It has been an incredibly wet spring and early summer here (16-1/2 inches since April and more is expected!) I have thought about singing the nursery rhyme, "Rain, rain go away, come again another day."  But, I'm a farmer's daughter and I know that July is coming and the rain will be going. My dad is a seed dealer so rainfall totals are pretty important to him. He has several rain gauges and even gives them to his customers. I work in specialty advertising, where one of the most popular products is a rain gauge. Yet, I can't get a rain gauge. Sure, I live in town but I get curious. Trust me when I tell you the frog sandbox is NOT an accurate measuring device.

I have the same problem with umbrellas. I have 2 at my desk right now! When was the last time you got rained on at your desk? I try to keep one in the car and at my desk. I just forget to take it back to the car with me!

As I look out the window, the sun is shining! (2 days in a row!) I may not be able to contain my excitement if this keeps going.
